Arden Photonics is a UK-based manufacturer (with a US presence) of specialized optical measurement instruments used by optical fiber producers and labs. Its tools characterize and validate the physical and optical properties of standard and specialty fibers, including geometry, refractive index profile, modal content, and end-face quality. It also makes equipment for controlling and measuring multimode launch conditions to ensure consistent, standards-compliant fiber testing.

Bola Technologies builds flexible, configurable optical test and measurement instrumentation and components for the fiber-optics industry. Distributed fiber sensing
Sensuron designs and builds distributed fiber optic sensing (DFOS) systems that turn a single optical fiber into thousands of continuously distributed sensors for measuring strain and temperature in real time. Automated optical test
SYCATUS is a Japanese maker of automated optical test and measurement instrumentation, founded in 2009 by engineers from Agilent Technologies' optical R&D operations in Japan. It builds specialized analyzers that characterize lasers and optical components, covering measurements such as relative intensity noise, laser linewidth, optical frequency noise and optical frequency. Its systems are used in telecommunications, semiconductor, FMCW LiDAR and research applications.
Shape sensing
The Shape Sensing Company (TSSC), based in Austin, Texas, develops fiber optic shape sensing technology for minimally invasive medical procedures. It embeds ultra-thin optical fiber sensors directly into interventional devices so the entire length of an instrument, not just its tip, can be tracked in real time. The goal is radiation-free navigation and procedural guidance without relying on fluoroscopy or external tracking, delivered as a platform that medical-device partners integrate.
