Fiber optic sensing

Cleveland Electric Labs

Cleveland Electric Laboratories, through its FiberStrike brand, designs and manufactures fiber-optic sensing systems for physical security and infrastructure monitoring. Its technology uses optical fiber and fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors to detect intrusion, strain, temperature, acoustics and structural events. Because the sensing is fully optical, it is immune to electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference and works reliably in harsh outdoor conditions. Target customers include military installations, data centers, utilities, telecom providers, stadiums and campus environments.

FiberStrike is the perimeter-security and fiber-optic-sensing product line of Cleveland Electric Laboratories' Advanced Technologies Group; the company remains independent.

OgMentum represents Cleveland Electric Labs across its regions, providing local sales, application engineering and support so you get the right product backed by responsive service. Our engineers can help you select, configure and integrate the right solution for your application.

FiberStrike LCM-2500 Discrete Relay Interface (DRI)

FiberStrike LCM-2500 Discrete Relay Interface (DRI)

A standalone fiber-optic security monitor that maps remote contact switches to as many as 64 dry-contact output relays, activating an output in under a second when a switch changes state. It needs no PC or network connection, monitors all switches continuously over a single strand of single-mode fiber, and supports switches located up to 16 km away.

FiberStrike Perimeter Intrusion Detection System

FiberStrike Perimeter Intrusion Detection System

A buried or fence-mounted fiber-optic barrier that detects and locates climbing, cutting, drilling or digging attempts to within a few meters across multiple sensing zones, with an average response time of about 1.5 seconds and passive fiber unaffected by snow, rain or blowing sand.

FBG Accelerometer / Acoustic Sensor

FBG Accelerometer / Acoustic Sensor

Fiber Bragg grating-based sensors that measure vibration and acoustic signals for structural health and security monitoring, with EMI/RFI immunity and the ability to multiplex many sensing points on a single fiber.
