A two-channel mechanical fiber shaker that continuously agitates a multimode test jumper so that laser speckle averages out during Encircled Flux and loss measurements.

The MPX-SR3 varies the differential path length of the modes propagating in the test fiber, averaging the speckle pattern produced by a coherent (laser or VCSEL) source. One channel carries OM1 (62.5/125 um graded index) fiber and the other OM2 (50/125 um), with OM3 and OM4 also available; each channel has FC/PC input and output ports as standard. Shaking runs at a fixed 10 Hz with under 1 dB of insertion loss. Its use is called for by standards such as IEEE 802.3aq and FOTP-203.

A benchtop instrument that measures the modal launch condition (Encircled Flux) of a multimode light source and patchcord at 850 nm. It is used to verify that a test source meets the launch requirements of the multimode loss-measurement standards.

A bench interferometer that inspects and measures the surface quality, flatness and end angle of cleaved or polished fiber end faces in 2D and 3D. Three models cover fiber diameters from 80 um to 2000 um.

An automated measurement system for the geometry of 1D and 2D Fiber Array Units (FAUs) and MT ferrules, reporting core X-Y positions, core-to-core pitch and PM stress rod angles.
