The RTS250+ is a distributed fiber optic sensing (DFOS) interrogator that reads thousands of equally spaced sensing points along a standard optical fibre rather than at discrete points. It operates in two modes: eight simultaneously monitored fibres at 100 Hz, or four fibres at 200 Hz, with over 2,000 sensors per fibre. Spatial resolution is software-selectable down to 1.6 mm as a custom order, with 6.3 mm the highest stock resolution, and maximum sensing length is offered at either 52 m or 104 m. Sensuron states the platform also derives 2D shape, deflection, pressure, stiffness (bending and torsion), liquid level and operational load in addition to strain and temperature.
