Customer-defined optical test sets built, integrated and tested to a specification, combining Bola instruments with third-party optical components. Targeted at manufacturing transceiver test in O-band, C-band and 850 nm.

Each set is configured rather than catalogued: the manufacturer combines its own fiber optic switches, tunable and fixed lasers, dynamic optical filter arrays with OCMs, variable optical attenuators and optical power meters with non-Bola elements such as ASE sources, optical amplifiers, polarization controllers, tunable filters and mux/demux. The four published capability areas are Sources (tunable, fixed, ASE), Routing (switching, mux/demux), Conditioning (filtering, amplification, attenuation, polarization, mux/demux) and Measuring (OSNR, optical power, eye diagram, BER). Control can be manual front panel, GPIB, USB or custom, and housings, fiber type and connectors are customer-specified. Available in rack mount or bench top.

FiberLabs' standard, mass-produced rare-earth-doped ZBLAN fluoride bare fibers. The dopants give emission wavelengths in the visible, near-infrared and mid-infrared that silica hosts cannot reach.
