A software module that converts DTS temperature data and load data into real-time conductor temperature profiles and permissible ampacity ratings for power transmission and distribution cables.
RTTR continuously calculates conductor temperature from current load, load history and thermal conditions, and predicts maximum permissible load for steady state and emergency situations. The calculation uses thermal models of soil and ambient conditions along the cable with fast Kalman filter technology, and is based on IEC 60287, IEC 60853 and finite element modelling. It outputs conductor temperature profiles, steady-state ampacity and emergency ratings predicting maximum conductor temperature, emergency time or emergency current for up to one week ahead. Results interface to a load dispatch centre over Modbus TCP, IEC 61850 and IEC 60870-104.
